1- History Taking and Examination
- First, your doctor will take your medical history either by asking you to fill in forms, or asking some questions about your sexual history.

2- Getting Tested For STIs
At the beginning, you will be informed of the tests that the physician believes are necessary. You might be given one or more of the following tests:
- A urine sample.
- A blood sample.
- A swab from the mouth, anus, urethra (the tube from which urine emerges), a genital examination if you are a woman, and swabs from the vagina, which you can typically perform on your own.
