What Is IVF/ lCSI?
The process known as “In Vitro Fertilization” (IVF) involves fertilizing an egg (oocyte) outside of the body before transferring it into the woman’s uterus.
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a form of ART similar to IVF except that a single sperm is injected into the oocyte (egg) rather than the sperm entering the egg on its own. This type of fertility treatment is used mainly for male infertility, especially in low sperm count, poor morphology and testicular aspiration or biopsy.
IVF/ ICSI are currently the most widely used methods to increase your chances of becoming pregnant.

IVF/ ICSI Procedure
1- Ovarian stimulation
Ovarian stimulation entails a regimen of daily injections of a stimulating hormone over a period of eight to twelve days. Modern ultrasound methods and laboratory tests are used to closely evaluate your ovarian response throughout this time.
2- Collecting the eggs and sperm specimens
Egg collection is a minor procedure where the eggs are drawn using a suction device. This process is quick and painless. It is done under sedation and requires under 30 minutes, leaving no visible stitches or scars.
Prior to this procedure, a semen sample or a frozen sperm sample should be supplied by the male partner.
3- Fertilization and embryo culture
In IVF, the prepared eggs and sperm are put together in a petri dish to facilitate fertilization. While in ICSI, an embryologist picks a high quality sperm with a fine needle and injects it into the mature egg.

4- Preimplantation Genetic Testing
Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidies, or PGT-A, is a screening procedure that looks for anomalies like Down syndrome or other chromosomal abnormalities in the embryos produced by in vitro fertilization. PGT-A reduces the risk of miscarriage and increases the likelihood of a successful pregnancy by detecting embryos with the proper number of chromosomes.
5- Embryo Transfer
For fresh cycles, embryo transfers occur three to five days after conception; for frozen cycles, they occur at a predetermined period. The process is quick, painless, and takes about fifteen minutes. The fertility specialist uses a syringe to implant the embryo or embryos into the uterus after inserting a flexible catheter into the vagina, through the cervix, and into the uterus.
6- Pregnancy Test
